a) Clean the lens contacts* to restore connection with the body. b) Try using a different memory card. All memory cards should be properly formatted in your camera prior to use. *Warning - Do not clean lens contacts on either a Canon lens or the camera body with an eraser!
If this Troubleshooting Guide does not resolve the problem, contact your dealer or nearest Canon Service Center. Power-related problems. The battery does not charge. If the battery's remaining capacity () is 94% or higher, the battery will not be charged. Do not use any battery packs other than a genuine Canon Battery Pack LP-E17.
With my 5Dmk4 bodies, if you are not 1/2 depressing the shutter button, there is no continuous autofocus. With the R cameras, even when the camera is hanging by my side I hear the focus motor continue to wildly engage, so the quick fix is just to turn the camera off.
Contact Canon US Support, 1-800-OK-CANON. It could be the way your camera is setup, but it could also be a hardware issue.
In the case of (1), unplug the charger’s power plug from the power outlet. Detach and reattach the battery to the charger. Wait a few minutes, then reconnect the power plug to the power outlet. If the problem persists, take the camera to the nearest Canon Service Center. I posted in a similar thread. My R5 with RF 24-105 froze displaying the last image. (Yet I have image review turned off.) Switching the camera off and back on did not restore function. Removing the battery briefly brought the camera back. The camera was in C1 mode which is set for animal eye detection and shutter priority, using servo. A USB connection won't work when Wi-Fi is active. Connect by USB and launch EOS Utility 3, then select REMOTE SHOOTING on the camera. On the window that comes up, not the camera menu, look for the LIVE VIEW SHOOT button. Follow the prompts on screen and you should soon see a preview of what the camera is seeing.None of any other buttons (inc. info, i, delete, zoom in/out) worked. It didn't matter what lens was attached. I can shoot (shutter release worked) but cannot view/delete the photo newly taken. The live view button worked (see pic) but I could not use zoom in/out when manually focus. What I can guess is the WB button was stuck but not sure.
Click Start and type device manager. In the search results, click Device Manager. Find your camera under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers. If the camera is not detected, click the Action menu on top and then select Scan for hardware changes. Wait for Windows to scan and reinstall updated drivers.KAWF.
